Quality Connections

Quality Connections is a six month quality improvement program that includes goal setting, on-site mentoring and resources for professional growth. An Early Care & Education Specialist will assist participants in discovering & defining personalized goals and needs, as well as provide the tools and encouragement needed to make them a reality. Currently, Quality Connections is available to early educators in Shawnee, Jefferson, Jackson and Osage counties.

What you can expect from participating Quality Connections…

• A scheduled classroom observation
• Assistance in developing a program improvement plan and goals
• Six on-site technical assistance visits, approximately 2-3 weeks apart, discussing topics identified through the plan and goals
• Parent Pages provided at each visit for families
• Children’s books delivered at each technical assistance visit to enhance the program’s library (6 books in total)
• Open communication about progress towards goals
• Access to a $300 mini-grant, payable in gift certificates*, once the provider/ teacher has attended six clock-hours of a KDHE approved in-service module (training must be completed by 6 months after the date of the observation visit)
• Access to up to a $50 in mini-grant that will be used to plan & support a family event
• A final observation, once training is completed and materials have been added to the environment
